Week Ten Fantasy Football Tips
By: Andrew De Santis
Well Ladies and Gentleman I am going to be doing things a little bit differently from here on out. Instead of ranking the top 10 of each position I will be giving you advice on who to start and who to sit for each position. The reason for this being no matter what, if you have a top 10 player you will be playing them each week. If you have Peyton Manning it doesn’t matter if they’re number 1 or 3 you will be playing them. Thank you all very much and enjoy.

QB’s
Russell Wilson-
- I am still not completely sold on what he is capable of doing especially when Golden Tate is the only receiving threat on this offense until Percy Harvin comes back. He has been using his legs which can score some easy points but I don’t think he is the threat he appeared to be at the start of the season.
Colin Kaepernick-
- This is another guy who has been on and off all season. He will also be getting Manningham back either this week or next which will help him drastically as previously he was working with only Vernon Davis and Anquan Boldin.
Jason Campbell-
- He is going into a bye this week but that should only improve his performance with the Browns. He will have more time taking first team reps and should look further chemistry with some of his receivers. Hopefully he can figure out a way to get Cameron involved in the offense.
Nick Foles-
- If you have a roster spot and have been playing the QB shuffle all season give this guy a chance. I don’t know if I would start him this week but I would definitely monitor how he is doing. Don’t expect a 7 TD performance every week but this guy could definitely turn into a serviceable starter.
Mike Glennon-
- Not sure I would go out and buy a Glennon jersey but I think he can play. If you have injury problems, are in a big league or a 2 QB league he could be a good pickup otherwise I don’t think he will put up big enough numbers to be worth the start.
Case Keenum-
- I like him a lot more than Glennon. He has the pieces around him to be successful. Between Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins he can definitely be successful. Also with Arian Foster and Ben Tate both banged up they will be throwing the ball a lot.
RB’s
Mike James-
- The guy threw for a touchdown last week and has been running well. If he is still available in any of your leagues snatch him up. He will be a good start against a weak Miami rush defense.
Le’Veon Bell-
- We have seen flashes of greatness from Bell this season and we have also seen flashes of mediocrity. It has been a real toss up. If I had to make a call I would probably start Bell this week against the Bills but it is also entirely possible that he could fall off this week.
Ryan Matthews-
- Any momentum Matthews had managed to obtain so far this season has been crushed by their bye week. He came back and did virtually nothing this past week. Danny Woodhead would be a much safer start if you’re desperate to start someone from the Chargers backfield.
Lamar Miller-
- He really distanced himself from fellow running back Daniel Thomas this past Thursday against the Bengals. He could go on to have himself another nice little week against Tampa Bay this week as well. I would be a little weary though with all this drama going on in Miami they are missing two starting members of an already weak O-line.
Chris Johnson-
- Had a huge game last week but he is just too flakey to count on consistently. If you can’t find a better option he will have to work but you don’t know if you’re going to get 20 points or 2. More often than not this season it’s been closer to 2.
Darren Sproles-
- Even if he is healthy enough to play this week you probably shouldn’t play him. He has not seen much action as of late and it’s not looking like things will pick up for him.
LeSean McCoy-
- One of the best running backs in the league has really fallen off in the past couple weeks. Now that it looks like the Eagles have a pass game again that should take much of the pressure off McCoy. Look to see him bounce back against a Green Bay defense that may or may not have Clay Matthews.
Andre Brown-
- He’s had a few weeks back practicing and he may be a little shaky in his first game back but if I have him I am starting him. He looks like he will be getting 20 or so carries which is more tnan enough for him to do some serious damage.
WR’s
Jarrett Boykin-
- With James Jones back and Aaron Rodgers gone it looks like has out lived his usefulness. Dump him to anyone stupid enough to take him or drop him.
Torrey Smith-
- After starting the season off very strong he has tailed off a little bit. I would not lose all hope in him yet though. If you can pick him up from a panicking owner go ahead and do so.
Cecil Shorts-
- He will now be drawing all the coverage from Tennessee’s solid pass defense but may be able to pull off some sort of heroics. Now that he is essentially the only piece of offense on the team he will have to step it up.
DeSean Jackson-
- He’s back. Now he has a gunslinger throwing the ball to him he can go back to doing the only thing he’s ever been good at; running fast. He dominates in the big play game.
Aaron Dobson-
- Even though he does have a bye this week I wanted to address him. He’s come off two pretty solid games with scores in both. I would not expect that to continue.
Antonio Brown-
- If got into the end zone more than three times this season he would no doubt be a solid WR 1. Even still he has been playing consistently well and putting up yards every game. Going against a pretty weak buffalo secondary this week shouldn’t scare any owners.
Hakeem Nicks-
- This guy is all but useless. Many thought after a few solid performances early and the fact that he is in a contract year he would light up the league like the Nicks of old. Many thought wrong.
TE’s
Julius Thomas-
- Back and practicing he should be a safe bet to start this week. Going against San Diego you can expect him to get open and that Peyton Will get him the ball.
Charles Clay-
- With the Miami offensive line already struggling and depleted I would expect to see Clay used more in protection than anything else.
Tim Wright-
- After another pretty solid game I would trust this guy if you’re having bye week or injury issues. Other than that I would not consider him to be a safe start.
Coby Fleener-
- With Reggie Wayne out of the lineup it looks like Fleener might be a little bit more of a factor in the Colts offense. I put him in the same boat as Wright. If you have some problems where you need a TE he could be a good option. Other than that I would not rely on him.
Martellus Bennett-
- No matter who is throwing to Bennett he has proven himself to be a solid receiving option in the Bears offense. Add in the fact that they’re playing a shaky Lions secondary and Bennett could be a major factor this week.
Greg Olsen-
- While still putting together some solid games it appears he is just an afterthought in the red zone. If you are counting on him having a big game against a fair San Francisco defense he will need to do it based on yardage not scores.

Mike James-
- If for any reason he still around in any of your leagues give this guy an add. There is no telling when or if Doug Martin will be back this season but James is at the very least a solid stopgap.
Russell Wilson-
- Now is the time to buy low on this guy. With a solid receiver coming back any time now he could turn into a top five quarterback.
Colin Kapernick-
- Basically the same thing as with Russell Wilson. Buy low now and he will be stepping up his game.
Riley Cooper-
- Like I said last week every new QB has a favorite receiver and it looks like Cooper is Nick Foles’ new favorite. Ever since last season when Foles started he got Cooper involved in the offense. It is worth a shot to pick up Riley Cooper and hope he turns into something.

Texans Run game-
- Ben Tate and Arian Foster both have been subpar this season and now they are both banged up they aren’t doing anyone any good. By the time they’re healthy it should be around the playoffs in most leagues. If you can get rid of these guys for any sort of return than go ahead and do it.
C.J. Spiller-
- Even though he had a pretty solid game he still was shaky and was only given the ball 14 times and saw no goal line action. Until he is back to 100% which will be after his week 12 bye he probably won’t be worth the start. If you can get anyone to buy after this solid performance go ahead and get rid of him.
Trent Richardson-
- Many people thought that in the absence of Wayne the run gain would get some more action. It does not look like it will. If you have the misfortune of owning Richardson than do all you can to shop him around.
